The Center for A Course in Miracles conducts weekly, monthly, and quarterly classes at our Center, located at 1151 Harbor Bay Pkwy, Suite 105, Alameda, CA.
Please feel comfortable joining any of our classes at any point in time as the Course's themes are reflected in all thirty-one chapters. Our classes include study, friendly discussion, and questions and answers.
Registration is not required for any of our classes.
Please contact us with any questions you may have.
Our weekly 90-minute study and discussion groups are held Tuesdays from 11am-12:30pm, and Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm. The four weeks following each monthly class are a continuation of Dr. Wapnick's teachings on each successive chapter of A Course in Miracles. This format is more informal as we listen to the audio version of Dr. Wapnick's "Classes on the Text of A Course in Miracles," and invite questions and discussion.
On the first Saturday of each month we present Dr. Kenneth Wapnick's DVD Series "Classes on the Text of A Course in Miracles," one chapter per month. (The print version, "Journey Through the Text," is an expanded version of the DVD series.) These presentations are followed by a question and answer period facilitated by the Center's staff.
A Course in Miracles, unlike most linearly structured texts, is symphonically presented, with its themes and principles woven into the teachings throughout, much the same as leitmotivs are woven into the fabric of a musical composition. The Course is thus seen as the perfect integration of form and content, a framework within which the prominent principles and themes in each chapter are presented in succeeding classes.
The overall purpose of these classes is to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of A Course in Miracles, in terms of its magnitude both as a thought system and as a work of art. Such appreciation, it is hoped, will facilitate students' study of the Course, enabling them to learn and practice its teachings in a gently consistent manner as they strive to integrate them into their daily lives. ~ Kenneth Wapnick

Chapter 31 - The Final Vision: "Trials are but lessons that you failed to learn presented once again, so where you made a faulty choice before you now can make a better one, and thus escape all pain that what you chose before has brought to you. In every difficulty, all distress, and each perplexity Christ calls to you and gently says, "My brother, choose again." He would not leave one source of pain unhealed, nor any image left to veil the truth. He would remove all misery from you whom God created altar unto joy. He would not leave you comfortless, alone in dreams of hell, but would release your mind from everything that hides His face from you" (T-31.VIII.3:1-5).

Introduction to Classes on the Text: "After working with the Course for awhile, there is a tendency for students to lose sight of what they are really studying, and so in this introduction I hope to give some appreciation not only of the Course's magnitude as a thought system, but also as a work of art—the form and content of A Course in Miracles.
Our symphony is about to begin. The conductor raises his baton and signals the orchestra to play. The music of the miracle is heard, and, reminiscent of Shakespeare's lovely words, we say softly to ourselves in preparation for the sweet harmonies we are to hear:
Here we will sit, and let the sounds of music
Creep in our ears: soft stillness and the night
Become the touches of sweet harmony.
(The Merchant of Venice, V,i)"

Chapter 1 - The Meaning of Miracles: "You who want peace can find it only by complete forgiveness. No learning is acquired by anyone unless he wants to learn it and believes in some way that he needs it. While lack does not exist in the creation of God, it is very apparent in what you have made. It is, in fact, the essential difference between them ... Until the "separation," which is the meaning of the "fall," nothing was lacking. There were no needs at all ... A sense of separation from God is the only lack you really need correct" (T-1.VI.1:1-4,6,7, T-1.VI.2:1).
Each quarter we present Dr. Wapnick's DVD workshop, "The Unconscious Mind." This one-day workshop will present the Course's theology and metaphysical framework, focusing on the nature of the split mind as the dreamer of the dream, the dream being comprised of both the ego thought system and the world that is its effect. Thus the world "is the outside picture of an inward condition," reflecting our mind's choice to identify with either the ego or the Holy Spirit. Seen through Christ's vision, the world becomes a classroom in which we learn to see sameness instead of differences, the healed perception that is the meaning of joining. In this way, the decision-making mind is restored to our awareness so that we can choose again and awaken from the dream.
