The Center for A Course in Miracles conducts weekly, monthly, and quarterly classes at our Alameda branch (map), located at 1151 Harbor Bay Pkwy, Suite 105, Alameda, CA.
We do not presently offer classes at our Temecula branch.
Please feel welcome to join any of our classes at any point in time as the Course's themes are reflected in all thirty-one chapters. Our classes include study, open discussion, and questions and answers.
Registration is not required for any of our classes.
Please contact us with any questions you may have.
Our weekly 90-minute study and discussion groups are held every Tuesday and Wednesday. The four weeks following each monthly class are a continuation of Dr. Wapnick's teachings on each successive chapter of A Course in Miracles. This format is more informal as we listen to the audio version of Dr. Wapnick's "Classes on the Text of A Course in Miracles," and invite questions and discussion.
Tuesdays, 11am-12:30pm - Wednesdays, 7-8:30pm
On the first Saturday of each month we present Dr. Kenneth Wapnick's DVD Series "Classes on the Text of A Course in Miracles," one chapter per month. (The print version, "Journey Through the Text," is an expanded version of the DVD series.) These presentations are followed by a question and answer period facilitated by the Center's staff.
A Course in Miracles, unlike most linearly structured texts, is symphonically presented, with its themes and principles woven into the teachings throughout, much the same as leitmotivs are woven into the fabric of a musical composition. The Course is thus seen as the perfect integration of form and content, a framework within which the prominent principles and themes in each chapter are presented in succeeding classes.
The overall purpose of these classes is to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of A Course in Miracles, in terms of its magnitude both as a thought system and as a work of art. Such appreciation, it is hoped, will facilitate students' study of the Course, enabling them to learn and practice its teachings in a gently consistent manner as they strive to integrate them into their daily lives. ~ Kenneth Wapnick

Chapter 14 - TEACHING FOR TRUTH: "Each day, each hour and minute, even each second, you are deciding between the crucifixion and the resurrection; between the ego and the Holy Spirit. The ego is the choice for guilt; the Holy Spirit the choice for guiltlessness. The power of decision is all that is yours. What you can decide between is fixed, because there are no alternatives except truth and illusion. And there is no overlap between them, because they are opposites which cannot be reconciled and cannot both be true. You are guilty or guiltless, bound or free, unhappy or happy" (T-14.III.4:1-6).

Chapter 15 - THE HOLY INSTANT: “The holy instant is the Holy Spirit's most useful learning device for teaching you love's meaning. For its purpose is to suspend judgment entirely. Judgment always rests on the past, for past experience is the basis on which you judge. Judgment becomes impossible without the past, for without it you do not understand anything. You would make no attempt to judge, because it would be quite apparent to you that you do not understand what anything means. You are afraid of this because you believe that without the ego, all would be chaos. Yet I assure you that without the ego, all would be love" (T-15.V.1:1-7).

Chapter 16 -THE FORGIVENESS OF ILLUSIONS: "Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all of the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. It is not necessary to seek for what is true, but it is necessary to seek for what is false. Every illusion is one of fear, whatever form it takes. And the attempt to escape from one illusion into another must fail. If you seek love outside yourself you can be certain that you perceive hatred within, and are afraid of it. Yet peace will never come from the illusion of love, but only from its reality" (T-16.IV.6:1-6).
Each quarter we present Dr. Wapnick's DVD workshop, "The Unconscious Mind." This one-day workshop will present the Course's theology and metaphysical framework, focusing on the nature of the split mind as the dreamer of the dream, the dream being comprised of both the ego thought system and the world that is its effect. Thus the world "is the outside picture of an inward condition," reflecting our mind's choice to identify with either the ego or the Holy Spirit. Seen through Christ's vision, the world becomes a classroom in which we learn to see sameness instead of differences, the healed perception that is the meaning of joining. In this way, the decision-making mind is restored to our awareness so that we can choose again and awaken from the dream.
